Stay home except for essential needs

Everyone is required to stay home except to get food, care for a relative or friend, get necessary health care, or go to an essential job. If you go out, keep at least 6 feet of distance.

Do:

  •  Stay home
  •  Avoid people outside your household
  •  Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  •  Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue
  •  Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  •  Maintain a safe social distance of 6 feet whenever outside of the house

Don’t:

  •  Leave the house except for essential activities
  •  Shake hands
  •  Touch your face
  •  Go to the doctor if you aren’t sick
  •  Stockpile masks or gloves

California is working around the clock to respond to COVID-19

  • Directed Californians to stay at home to slow the spread of the virus
  • Made testing free for most Californians who are medically eligible for testing
  • Ensured students continue to learn and get meals even when schools physically close
  • Deployed the California National Guard to work at food banks
  • Distributed millions of N95 masks and other protective gear to health care workers, with more to come soon
  • Secured travel trailers and hotels to house people experiencing homelessness

As of 2pm March 30, 2020 there are 6,932 positive cases and 150 deaths in California. Approximately 86,100 tests had been conducted. This includes the latest numbers California has received from commercial and private labs. At least 28,704 results have been received and another 57,400 are pending. See the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the latest data.
