Notice of member passing: Robert Bob Good on 8-30-24

I regret having to inform the membership of the passing of Brother Robert Good on August 30th, 2024 at the age of 76.
Bob Good was initiated into Local 728 on October 1st, 1992 and was a member of Local 728 for 20 years.
Brother Good’s career in set lighting pre-dated his joining Local 728 by many years going back to film school in Berkeley in the mid 1970’s. He had been a member of NABET Local 531, the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians. As a member of NABET, Bob worked as a cinematographer and gaffer. After NABET was absorbed into IATSE Bob worked as a CLT, a CRT, a ACLT and on occasion as an ELT. His last show before retiring in 2017 after a 40 year + career in set lighting was spent working as an ACLT on Black-Ish.
Set lighting wasn’t Bob’s only claim to fame. In the 1960’s he was the bassist and rhythm guitarist in a garage band called The Del-Vetts. They had a hit with the song “Last Time Around” and “Ramcharger” a surf rock style instrumental.
