Brother Juan "Spike" Osorio passed away on February 6th, 2024 at the age of 41. "Spike" was a 7 year member of Local 728. In that span of time he earned an impeachable reputation as an ideal crew mate and was widely admired by those he worked with for his professionalism, dedication to his craft, his fellow crew mates and safety on set.
He will also be remembered for his good nature the smile he frequently shared.
The following statement was issued to our membership on the day of his passing:
Today we lost a member of our 728 family, Juan “Spike” Osorio.
We are in the process of arranging support with MPTF for the family and crew who were on the show.
There is an ongoing investigation with the support from the International Alliance.
Remember that as much as we love what we do, the goal is always to go home safely at the end of the day.
One of ours is not going to do that today.
Please keep their family and crew in your thoughts and prayers today and respect their privacy at this time.
