It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform our membership that Local 728 Gold Card member Richard McConihay, aka "Dick" "Captain Dickie" has passed away at the age of 81. Dick was a long time Sergeant at Arms of Local 728 and many of us know him as the door keeper of our union meetings. Many more of us also knew him as an exemplary ACLT, who always took care of his crew, was fair minded, played by the rules and was never afraid to stand up to an employer or a gaffer when need be. He joined Local 728 on September 12, 1960, 59 years ago. He will be sorely missed, but memories of his exceptional brotherhood and good company will live on within us.
