As we begin the first full year of California's Film & Television Tax Credit Program 2.0, a total amount of $330 million dollars in tax credits will be allocated. Last years' incentive program was a mixture of the old $100 million program with an added $230 million in funding from the 2.0 program. The $100 million program limited what productions could apply for a tax credit. The full 2.0 program is far more diverse and expected to draw a much more varied and lucrative production selection to the state. June 27 - July 8, 2016: 1. Independent Films - $10 Million in Tax Credits Available 2. Non-Independent Feature Films - $70 million in Tax Credits Available July 11, 2016: Projects that rank in the top 200% will be notified to submit Phase II of documents. Credit Allocation Letters will be issued on August 1, 2016. November 14 - 29, 2016: TV* Application Window 1. Relocating TV Series 2. TV Projects - New TV series, Pilots, Mini-Series, Recurring TV Series, and Relocating TV series in their second season in California November 30, 2016: Projects that rank in the top 200% will be notified to submit Phase II documents.
