James L. Moody

James L. Moody literally wrote the book on concert light and served as the lighting director for Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, and Jackson Browne among others. “Performance Magazine” named him the inaugural winner of the Concert Lighting Designer of the Year Award in 1980.

Jim's work with live televised events started with “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert,” and included included “Entertainment Tonight,” “Jeopardy!” “Wheel of Fortune,” and “Hard Copy.”

Jim's passion for education equals his accomplishments in the professional world. Prior to his retirement, Jim was the Head of the Technical Theatre Program, Technical Director, and Lighting Designer for The Theatre Academy at Los Angeles City College and served many years on the faculty at the California Institute of the Arts.
