“Unconscionable” – Labor Hall Of Honor Adding Union-Busting President Reagan

The union representing workers at the U.S. Department of Labor is up in arms over plans to induct former U.S. President Ronald Reagan into the Labor Department’s Hall of Fame. A former President of the Screen Actors Guild, Reagan boasted at the beginning of his presidency in 1981 that he was the first president of the United States to hold a lifetime membership in an AFL-CIO union, but shortly after set his administration’s anti-union tone with the firing over 11,000 striking air traffic controllers represented by the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization.

The right to vote for millions of Americans is in jeopardy. Tell Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act.

UTLA Donates $60K To Help DACA Dreamers Renew Their Status

United Teachers of Los Angeles rallied with parents and community members Tuesday in support of the DACA program.

The union is donating $60,000 to groups financially helping dreamers renew their protection status – which costs $495 per person. The union says thousands of Los Angeles students, teachers and alumni face a tight October 5th deadline to renew their status.
