Days before a potential strike against unfair practices, the Los Angeles Labor Movement is joining 6,000 janitors across Los Angeles County to support their rights to be treated fairly as they fight for fair wages and protections against economic exploitation, wage theft, and sexual assault.
This week, labor leaders held a press conference and joined SEIU United Service Workers West to announce their official support. The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is ready, willing, and able to give any support they need to win the respect they deserve, including preparing bags of food for the janitors. Union members across Los Angeles County will not cross picket lines, and it could impact the flow of business.
The press conference led to a massive rally today across the state with thousands marching in the streets, on the eve of the last day of bargaining for janitors.
