The International Union of Police Associations is urging support for baton Rouge area police and deputies who lost their homes in the massive flooding in August.
Rich Roberts is Public Information Officer for the police union.
[Rich Roberts]: "A lot of people were suffering under that - no question about it. The police officers and deputies were out helping the public and their families had to work on their own without their officers present.
So they sacrificed going helping their families in order to cover for the general public. Seventy-five percent of the officers involved there sustained serious financial damage. Of those seventy five percent, 50% lost their homes."
A Go Fund Me site is up to take donations to help the Baton Rouge police officers recover from the damage.
