Colorado voters will be able to take their state into single-payer universal health care at the ballot box in November.
Donna Smith of Health Care For All Colorado says voters can create Medicare for all in Colorado by voting for this ballot initiative.
[Donna Smith]: "Colorado Care - Amendment 69 - would bring universal health care to every resident of Colorado, regardless of their immigration status. We're very proud of that. And it would provide coverage much more comprehensive than what the Affordable Care Act does. It really moves us to a Medicare for all type model in Colorado."
The World Health Organization ranks healthcare in the U.S. 37th in the world, behind many other nations that have forms of universal single payer healthcare.
