Now that California has expanded its film and television tax credit program, labor unions have reported a sizable 12.45 percent increase year-over-year in below-the-line jobs.
A full year’s worth of data on the program is reflected in the California Film Commission’s first official annual report on the expanded Program 2.0, which was released on Thursday.
CFC estimates the new program will generate $1.5 billion in direct in-state spending, including $600 million in below-the-line wages.
