Tesla Motors may be  modern and cutting edge with its electric vehicles, but it's old school when it comes to worker safety. Worksafe, a California group pushing for safer conditions for workers, says Tesla's worker injury rate "consistently exceeded industry averages". The group's report says Tesla's worker injury rate at its Fremont California plant is a third higher than average. For serious workplace injuries, it's more than twice the industry average rate. Pro-UAW workers at the plant are trying to organize union representation at Tesla.
