The Electrical Power Lab 101B class will continue the work of the Power Lab 101 class and go deeper into the world of portable power distribution systems. A thorough understanding of electrical principles is essential for the Set Lighting Technician. Through hands-on demonstration using equipment found on set, we will see firsthand the principles of electrical theory and how they apply to lighting a set. Among other topics, we will look at voltage drop, electronic dimmer function, harmonics, and how to properly plan for and use a loop circuit. This class will help you to have a better understanding of how to make electricity work for you so your crew can be more efficient. This class is primarily taught through hands-on experiments and real-world scenarios.This class covers topics that are listed as being in the content outline for the ETCP Entertainment Electrician Certification Exam.
