Thirty-three new labor law violation charges were filed this week against CKE - Andy Puzder's fast food chain. Puzder is Trump's nominee for U.S. Labor Secretary, a job that's supposed to enforce labor laws to improve workers lives.

The charges include sexual harassment, wage theft through wage and hour violations and unfair labor practice charges.

Charges were filed at the NLRB, the EEOC and state labor departments across ten states.

Katana Cardona works at a Florida Hardee's. She said her manager sexually harassed her and went unpunished.

[Katana Cardona]: "When I was one and a half months pregnant with my youngest child he asked me for a kiss. I refused and began to walk away.

But he grabbed me by the collar and inches from my face said 'If you don't start giving me what I want I'm going to have to start taking it from you.' 

I was so shaken by the incident it took me two days to even say anything to another manager. Instead of punishing the shift manager who had done this to me they switched me from the night shift to the day shift."

Torrence Chambers is a Hardee's worker and Fight For $15 supporter in Alabama.

[Torrence Chambers]: "When Andy Puzder spends $10,000 of his own money fightin' against a minimum wage increase, he's sending a signal to everyone in his fast food empire that it's OK to pay hard workin' people like me as low as possible. I'm here today because the American people need to know what kind of company Andy Puzder is runnin' and how he treats the people who make his millions."

Ivan Nava work's at a Los Angeles Carl's Jr.

[Ivan Nava]: "Profit always seem to come before our safety and our rights. When I slipped and fell trying to fill an ice machine I was forced to work through the throbbing in my back and finish my shift.

When hot oil from a deep fryer burned my eyelid I was forced to work through the pain until the end of my shift. When I joined for the fight for fifteen dollars because I wanted to stand up for myself and fellow workers I saw my hours cut."

Fast Food Forward/Fight For $15 Organizer Kendall Fells says even in a more hostile political environment nationally, the basic strategy remains the same for fast food workers fighting for a $15 minimum wage and a union.

[Kendall Fells]: "Workers are gonna continue to do what they've ben doin', which is organizing, growing, bringin' more coalition groups to the table.

They're gonna fight harder and they're going to continue to rack up victories.
