Social Security Works says Republicans in Washington are plotting a privatization attack on Medicare led by House Speaker Paul Ryan. Social Security Works says the GOP wants to turn over Medicare to the for-profit insurance industry in exchange for campaign donations and lobbyist cash.

As designed Medicare is a guarantee that seniors will not be denied health care because they can't afford it. Social Security Works says the effort to turn over Medicare to the insurance industry eliminates that guarantee for seniors.

Medicare is overwhelmingly popular across the political spectrum, and Social Security Works is urging Medicare supporters to hold the in-coming administration to campaign promises not to cut Social Security or Medicare.
