Thursday November 16th is a Nabisco boycott day of action. Six hundred American workers lost their jobs in Chicago making Nabisco snacks like Oreos, Ritz crackers and Chips Ahoy cookies. Nabisco-Mondolez outsourced their jobs to Mexico.
On November 16th there will actions around the country boycotting these Nabisco products.
On Veteran’s Day Will Attig, head of the Union Veterans Council, went with laid off veteran Nabisco workers to see CEO Irene Rosenfeld – who by the way made $16.7 million last year as she sent American jobs to Mexico.
Will Attig: “We’re here to deliver a letter to the CEO asking her to bring back jobs that she sent to Mexico. We’ve got laid off veteran workers here.”
But the CEO refused to meet with the workers, sending an assistant down to the workers instead.
Will Attig: “So you’re refusing to let veterans come in and talk to somebody, have an actual conversation.”
