[In Person] Underwater Lighting Essential Dive Skills and Techniques (2 Days)

This class focuses on Lighting Specific Dive Skills that are ESSENTIAL for working underwater. The underwater work of a Lighting Technician is significantly different than what is taught in recreational diving. If you want to work underwater, you must be able to function underwater in a manner that does not disturb the set/environment, clarity of water, other crew members, or potentially harm yourself or other crew members.

Some of the skills that we will focus on are: silt-free propulsion; reverse kicks; helicopter turns; precision buoyancy; moving equipment; and hand-holding lights for underwater photography. We also will cover the necessary equipment, whether to provide your own or use gear supplied by production, hypothermia, necessary top-side support, as well as essential safety/rescue gear and personnel that MUST be available when divers are working in the water.

If you wish to work in the water, you MUST be a certified diver and able to pass a basic medical questionnaire or have permission from a physician.
