COVID-19 is redirecting our Industry, affecting lives leaving members struggling with an ambiguous economic future. Here is a list of resources, grants, and assistance.  Not all of them may cover your direct needs and some reach across the country but look through it.

FINANCIAL RELIEF

4-22-2020 IATSE Priorities for Subsequent COVID-19 Relief Legislation

To help support the Entertainment Industry’s professional workers, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) are urging congress to prioritize certain items in subsequent COVID-19 relief packages. One of the first priorities on the IATSE’s list is to require the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to issue an Emergency Temporary Standard to protect those performing essential work in news and media- such as converting facilities into field hospitals – from occupation exposure to infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

4-22-2020 Behind The Scenes

We work with many organizations which support the IATSE and the Entertainment Industry. We as a Local support many of them on a regular basis. Some of our favorites are Motion Picture Television Fund (MPTF), Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation and the Actors Fund. One that gets overlooked is “Behind the Scenes”.

Chair Thom Davis began the online informational meeting by saying these were unprecedented, challenging times.

Jessie Moskeda of the Miguel Contreras foundation said the Fed got $500,000 in loan forgiveness for their program. 

They placed 40 of 50 of their second chance program people into jobs.

They postponed the May awards ceremony.



Rosemary Molina is continuing The Organize Amazon Campaign.

75 workers have fallen ill.
